At the Pillo Hotel Ashbourne, we understand how important it is for families to have spaces where children can relax, reset, and simply be themselves. In partnership with the expert team at Sensory House, we are proud to introduce our specially designed Sensory Play Room, a calm, colourful, and engaging environment created with children’s wellbeing in mind. As the first hotel in Ireland to custom design and install a dedicated Sensory Room, we have created a unique space that offers a gentle escape from the busy world outside. Through carefully selected lighting, textures, sounds, bubbles, and interactive features, the room is designed to support sensory regulation and encourage calm focus and comfort. Whether your child benefits from sensory-friendly environments or simply enjoys exploring new experiences, this space provides a safe and welcoming setting for play, relaxation, and meaningful family time together.

Designed for Every Family

Inclusivity is at the heart of what we do. Our Sensory Play Room is available for children of all capabilities, including neuro-typical and neuro-divergent guests, ensuring every child can enjoy a positive and enriching experience during their stay. It is a space where families can slow down, reconnect, and enjoy time together in a peaceful setting.

The Sensory Play Room is complimentary for all hotel residents and is bookable exclusively for one family at a time for a maximum of 45 minutes per session. It can be booked from 3 days prior to your arrival date.

Each booking allows for up to 2 adults and 3 children or 1 adult and 4 children. Parents must remain in the room with their children at all times.

To ensure a smooth experience for all guests, advance booking is required.
A booking link for the Sensory Play Room is included in your hotel booking confirmation email.

A €50 deposit will be taken at Reception to issue the master key. This deposit is fully refunded once the key is returned on time after your session.

Family Rooms with Sensory Play Space

For families looking to extend the experience, we also offer specially designed Family Sensory Suite with integrated sensory play elements, providing comfort and gentle stimulation within your own private space. These rooms are ideal for families who benefit from a sensory-friendly environment throughout their stay.
